Cathy, our house was 40 years old when we bought it. When I was remodeling the inside before we moved in, I discovered anoles had also taken up residence in the house. Whenever I could, I caught them and put them outside, well aware that the Beans would do them in when she moved in. They are really wonderful little critters.

When I lived in Hawai'i, everyone had cockroaches. If they were "big" ones, they had gotten into the house from outside - you killed them, but did not worry. When you found little ones, you knew they had taken up residence inside and were procreating. Then you called the exterminator!

That is kind of scary having that many termites around.... but I guess
you have that more common place down there then I do up here... I would

Glad to here that the eco system is working in your yard....

When I planted the Jamaican cherry earlier this year, I staked it with
a pointed 2X2. I just now took the stake out. The part that had beenthe ground had been turned into a condominium for termites. When I hitof
it on the ground, hundreds of termite larvae fell out.
And an enterprising anole jumped from a nearby plant into the middlethem and began gobbling them up.
