Get a big mean Rottweiler and put him out by the veggie patch. That'll stop.

Subject: [CHAT] vegetable thieves

When Ann Landers passed away our local paper transitioned to a column by Amy

Dickinson. Today's column had an interesting letter about a family's

vegetable garden problem. Her solution should have included zucchini.

Summary: Woman has been married 4 yrs and loves husband's family, except

for Uncle Frank. UF lives up the road and comes by frequently to steal from

her vegetable garden. Not just an onion or 2, but the entire crop at a

time. She actually caught him taking produce once, but he just waved and

drove off. He has always taken what he wants from family members (not just

food) and no one ever confronts him or his family.

Amy suggested she confront him jokingly to see what he says, plant extra

rows just for him - telling him so and suggesting he help with the weeding.

She also suggested come autumn, that she retaliate by leaving 18 bushels of

squash and 56 pounds of tomatoes on his porch.
