Thanks, Zem, I've been puzzling over it.  Is the whole thing the "bug"? If
so, I'd think more along the lines of a growth, a simbiotic (or not so)
relationship. The only part of the plant itself is the branch or trunk or
whatever part is on; I didn't see any of the leaves or thorns of the plant
itself.  If the "bug" is small in the photo, perhaps you could draw a circle
around it in the picture in paint program and resend it, since (at least )
Zem and I are having trouble seeing it.  Things are different in Florida ;+)
Whatever, you've got, Jim, it is interesting.
