sweet autumn clematis

Ok-- my sweet autumn clematis has taken over the world. It has outgrown
the trellis, added a tall Shepard rod to try to keep the trellis up,
added another one today and it is still smothering everything. 

Obviously I can't prune it back now, so what do you all do with this
monster?
