Same Genus, two different species. What we know as 'Datura' is Brugmansia candida, what we call 'Brugmansia' is Brugmansia versicolor.

Brugmansias' blooms hang down, and Daturas' point up. Daturas reseed here
and grow everywhere. Brugs have to be brought in for the winter.
