And two hours west of you we were about 85 until the fog rolled and it cooled to a nice 65. That's California for you.

Hmmm- yesterday was the first day we hit 100. Funny- now Sacramento is a cool spot to live?? Theresa Donna wrote:SAY WHAT! We have been in that 100 degree crap for weeks now! Actually today it is supposed to be cold, only 79 for a high... I can't wait!:) I have a craft made thing for my neck- has something inbetween the material, swells up when you put in water (read ice water). Keeps you cool for a time... then back in the ice water for 10 minutes and you are ready to go again... It does work! And, Rich, we really would appreciate some rain. Would even settle for it over the holiday weekend! Get a rag or small dish towel and wet it, then wring out slightly. Get some peppermint oil and drop about 4 drops along the length of it. Wet it slightly again and knead for a few moments to work the oil throughout the rag. Wear this around your neck while working in the yard and you'll feel cooler. Also 5 or 6 drops in your bath is most cooling and refreshing. For those of you prone to leg & foot cramps, drink a big glass of orange juice before going out in the yard, morning and afternoon. 8 to 12 oz. The potassium prevents the cramps and all the water you are drinking flushes that out. So it needs to be replenished. Or eat a banana if you don't like juice. It makes a difference. Hope that helps y'all not so accustomed to this type of heat. -- Pam Evans Kemp TX zone 8A---------------------------------------------------------------------To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE GARDENCHAT---------------------------------------------------------------------To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE GARDENCHAT--------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE GARDENCHAT--------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE GARDENCHAT
