Re: now update on my dad

too hot to walk here now too- that was part of why I walked at soon as I
got home this aM. Then went over to a friends to see her new golden
retriever puppy. He is soooo cute and fluffy. My dad will be going to
a full nursing facility- and will likely be there for the remainder of
his life. At least the place he is going doesn't look like a hospital.
It has lots of windows, cheerful decor, and staff and patients seem
happy. It is also right near his house, so I can stay in his home when
I go up to visit him. Fortunately, before any of this happened we had
his advanced health care directive (he has a DNR on file and specified
no life-prolonging activities if he is permanently unconsious/brain
dead/non responsive) and the power of attorney stuff. I have signed
tons of papers- the hardest was the form to specify "NO CPR" or
intubation should anything else happen to him. Yuck- but that is what he
wants. Just weird to sign something like that.

Not as hot today as yesterday- so will likely walk later too. Also
going to check with another gardening friend and see if she wants to
pick wild blackberries tonight or tomorrow AM.
Thanks for your friendship-
Theresa
