It would be too expensive to go back and put all those lines underground.
There are some newly developed areas that do have underground utilities, but
not many.

Pam I'm sorry to hear of your friends loss. It does lead me to a question
though. Did they have that wonderful invention by Benjamin Franklin
called a lightening rod? The reason I asked is because I visited one of
my suppliers in Gainesville Fl. which is reputed to be the lightening
capital of the world. He didn't have a lightening rod. I don't get it!

Along the same lines (pardon the pun) I notice that all of the electrical
lines are above ground. I would think that with tropical storms and
hurricanes one would want to have underground lines like we have here in
many parts of Ca. How come they don't in Fl. Miss, La and presumably
other southern gulf states?
