Don't feel bad, Judy. The weeds are winning here, too. Speaking of lilies, my Tiger lilies, Casablancas and Stargazers are blooming now as are the Hymenocallis 'Tropical Giant' and Crimnum 'Ellen Basanquat'. The Formosa lilies have divided again, and now there appear to be six of them. They are, of course, not blooming yet. You should see the Clerodendrum trichotomum. It's buds will be opening any minute. I have cut away about half of it, but it's still at least 15 feet wide and about 25 feet tall. Of course, its suckers are about to take over the world -- or at least the entire bed where it's planted.

Isn't Scherherazade a lovely thing. It started blooming a few days ago here
and will open new blossoms daily for another week or more. I need to
remember to feed it this year.

A few years back I mentioned an orienpet lily from VE called Haley's

Comet.

I think Ceres commented that it was virtually identical to Scheherazade

and

it does.  Update:
A couple of years afgo one of our MGs got a deal on quantities of Silk

Road
and Scheherazade directly from the Lily Garden and planted them in the bed
adjacent to the one with Haley's Comet. They may look alike, but they do
not bloom at the same time. Scheherazade is blooming now while HC is at
least a week away.
