Sorry. SUBstitute. As in a moist, sandy area, dampened bread, etc.
It freezes regularly here. Fire ants just go deeper underground.

I'll go look at the ant stakes. Thankfully we do not have fire ants here, at
least I have not seen them, although I hear they are in some parts of our
county. I believe they don't live where it freezes regularly.
