Probably so Theresa. I remember helping her years ago when we were both quite a bit younger. She always had strawberries that we ate from the garden and ALL of the veggies you could want. I learned from her that creamed corn is actually wonderful when it doesn't come out of a can. Of course she's totally old school and would chop the heads off of turtles that would get into the strawberry patch. ICK! Couldn't do that. I'd just relocate the turtle.

Now we know where you got your gardening genes from Andrea! Theresa Andrea Hodges wrote:Very nice plantings Bonnie. I like the Zinnia too. And what a nice thing to do for you neighbor. I know she appreciated that. I can only hope that I'm like my Granny. She wrote me a letter the other day about her vegetable garden and how she needs to get out and weed it. I can't remember how many plants but it was quite a few. She planted them all herself and she's almost 93.

Evolvulus "Hawaiian Blue Eyes"; thrives in hot locations...some afternoon
shade; perfect for my front porch which gets morning and late morning sun
and afternoon shade. Also, with it is Carex Bronco, heuchara, and bronze
begonia. I also thought about using a plumbago...I have some as ground
cover that has a lovely blue flower but isn't as profuse as Evolvulus. One
of my neighbors who turned 76 this summer just got 'too tired' to plant her
flower garden, two tomato plants, and replant her hanging basket. So, I
planted a couple of volunteer tomatoes, put hardy flowers (cleome and
celosia) in her garden, and plumbago and dark sweet potato vine in her
basket.
