Theresa, try and keep an eye out for the poisoned critter and bury him or dispose of him where nothing else can get to him. That's what I used to do. I'm sure I didn't get them all, but I tried to make sure they didn't "get got" by something else.

Well, Sherman is no longer with us. He had no fear...not even of trucks...and he got hit. I was devastated. But man....he was a mouser for sure. He brought back all KINDS of mice and field rats...all dead. Gotta like that in a terrier. "Theresa W." <tchessie1@sbcglobal.net> wrote: Can I borrow your dog for a week? Yesterday, my Sweet Honey Biscuit (husky/lab) caught one in my garden and
it was NO country mouse but an old world RAT. Don't know where it came
from as we are not near a city or processing plant, large agricultural
establishment, etc. A terrier would also be good as they were developed
to
go after rodents.

Yesterday I also resorted to getting rat killer, as I really can'tabidehaving a family of rats live in my back yard somewhere. But, even worse... they are eating my tomatos as they ripen!!! How infuriating and how gross! I am very wildlife and animal friendly usually, butthisI just can't abide. I noticed this AM that several of the baits were gone, so I'm hoping this means a quick end to this problem. Has anyone else had this problem?
