need computer help

Ok- so I moved my desktop and monitor out to the living room last night (to hook to the stereo receiver so i can make digital regording from some old reel-to-reel tapes). Anyway, the monitor has now gone bizerk! It looks like an impressionist painting- all swirly colors making it almost impossible to read the screen. Anybody have an idea how to fix this. It isn't the computer (checked it on another monitor- no problem). I did something to the monitor apparently. Is it toast or fixable??
