Sorry Pam, but I don't agree.

I know in the back of your mind you are thinking you couldn't just
replace Sugar and the world would be fine. That will never happen. But a
new kitty that needs your home will help you grieve. It will not replace
Sugar or make you forget her, but it will help you. Trust me.

Well it will be a little while before I am ready.  It would be no kindness
to bring a baby into an empty house full of pain and grief right now.  When
it becomes a home again full of joy and love, then it will be the
appropriate time.  But I appreciate the sentiments expressed and all the
