It surely looks like it -- but I went out to cut a branch and check the pith to be sure it wasn;t L. tartarica. It wasn't! That U of Conn. site is excellent. Have added it to my "favorites" list. Thanks. Cathy

I've got that - here on its own hook - and it is a bit weedy.  I've
left one and enjoy it, but most get pulled out.  I find the seedlings
and even youngish shrubs pretty easy to pull out of moist soil,
tho'...not like those blasted walnuts!

No, I am pretty sure that the plant is L. maackii, the Amur
honeysuckle. It springs up everywhere around here, and I'm forever
pulling it. Well, the "everywhere" is a slight exaggeration, it
likes a
bit of shade, so I find it in the shade garden and under just about

every large tree on the property.
