Read it, led a book group discussion on it. It was a good summer read, but had tons of inaccuracies, many with roots in some of the "enthusiasms" of the 19th century.

This is a fine point, but I should point out that Christians do not
worship
Mary. The shrines are simply places to go to pray to ask her to intercede
on your behalf. Do Muslims have intercedents? Or is that intercediaries?
