Mine have yet to bloom with the cool spring that at a moment's notice
suddenly became summer like weather. I'm looking forward to those spikes.
I should have purple, pink, white and lavender colors this year. I still
have no hydrangea blooms on my pee gee hydrangea. They must be at least 5
years old now. How long should I wait before giving up on seeing any
blossoms?
Oh, and my African Hollyhock (I think that was what the tag said) is in
bloom. The stems are so strong that last night's storm did nothing to it.
It seems resistant to insects and powdery mildew as well. The leaves look
perfect. The first blossom is a delicate mauve and I am in love with it!
It is a very architectural looking plant and just the right accent for the
area next to the peonies.
Blessings,
Bonnie (SW OH - zone 5)

And here mine are blooming, but have been for weeks. In fact, yesterday
evening I pruned off a bunch of dead flowerheads.
