Hi, Godi. Yeah, peeling them is kinda like peeling hardboiled eggs. And it does slow down the consumption. But if it wasn't for that, they would probably never get into the house!

As a kid, I didn't like candy very much. When I had a paper route, and consequently pocket change, I bought apples for snacks--until I discovered peaches. Peaches are my standard; every thing else is either the same or not as good as [most fruits] or better than. Lychees, sugar apples, and some mangos are better than.

We still look forward to the Georgia peach harvest, however; it peaks in mid-June.

The race is on! The lychees are ripe! It's us v the squirrels and the birds suddenly. Ate about two dozen of them today and oiled up the fruit picker so I can make a major dent in the harvest tomorrow. Also, we need to decide what to do with the surplus--dry, freeze, can. I sent an e-mail to UGa, the food preservation gurus, for guidance but haven't heard back. I'd like to set some aside to can with the pineapples later in the season. On the other hand, I may just eat them all--sure are good.
