RE: companions


Do you get much ground heave in a zone 7?  Up here, a rough winter of freeze
and thaw can push plants right out of the ground.  Our best defense is
mulching, but even that doesn't always work.  They tell us to wait until the
ground freezes to add the winter layer of mulch, but that isn't always so
easy!

It is slow growing...better than becoming an invasive...very interesting
plant that does well in the TG...which is in zones 7 & 7...however, the
shade garden is at the bottom of a slope, also, near the Tennessee River so
there is plenty of moisture.
