Will that be enough rain to stave off the fires long enough for the next
system to bring rain your way? I'm glad you only lost 3 of those avocados
and that you enjoyed some time watching the surf. It was a great
visualization! I've always been on the East Coast of Florida when we've
been in the state. I didn't realize the gulf side had a dearth of surf.

Alberto has moved off finally. It left a tad less than 4 inches of rain
behind and little damage. It blew three avocados out of the tree, but did no
other damage that I can see. Toward the end, we went to the beach to see the
surf--normally the Gulf has no surf to speak of, so storms are a welcome
diversion. It was drizzling and overcast and looked quite like an animated
Winslow Homer painting.
