Mine pretty much do the same. Fleur, a cat, loves to 'steal' what's left of Otis's food when he's in his crate for the night. All the cats consistently eat all their food. They just taste the dog food; however, they much prefer the Iams of Otis to the Science Diet of Precious. Persnickity little dudes.

That has been one daughter Tzeitel's biggest battles between her cats and
dogs. It seems her dogs like to explore "cat crunchies" in the litter box
even though they have their own very nutritious foods and her cats just love
to steel the dog food out of the dog's bowls while they have their own,
should be much more appetizing, food in their own bowls. It's rather like
each thinks the "grass is greener" on the other animals side! LOL!!!
Blessings,

A kitten that tries to eat dog food - while the dog is eating? You do know that cats and kittens shouldn't eat dogfood, right? Eating it won't hurt them, but they need their own food. Dogfood does not contain enough protein for felines. A 15 year old dog who had taught our 13 year old to
chase cats? A kitten that tries to eat dog food - while the dog is eating?
Somebody like me who's operating on instinct, having never had a cat
before? Somebody like me who's had to speed up the process because my Dad
is having surgery for a broken T10 ? ( It think I told you that Dad fell
aboard the river boat in Budapest. If not, my apologies. Every day has been
consumed with that.) I think I've spent every waking hour when I haven't
been with my Dad, gentling the dogs and kitten.
