Looked around a bit and found this from Tony Avent: "Many of the cultivars will tend to get some powdery mildew on their foliage during the summer. While this is unsightly, it seems to cause little problems for the plants. It appears that hybrids with P. longifolia seem to be resistant to this problem. " And this from MOBOT "Powdery mildew can be a significant problem on some lungworts, particularly if soils are allowed to dry in summer. 'Baby Blue' reportedly has good resistance to powdery mildew."
Perhaps I have accidentally selected resistant varieties except for this one. Also, this one is planted in a soil that is sandier than the rest of my garden. It has been so hot and dry of late - hence the powdery mildew.

I would try that. You don't have anything to lose but time by trying it. I've never seen it on Pulmonaria either. On Jun 17, 2007, at 12:46 PM, Kitty wrote:I've never had a Pulmonaria get powdery mildew b4, but this one seems to have it bad. I see new clean leaves coming out. Would it be ok to just remove all the old leaves rather than mess around w sprays and such that would only provide minimal success and still allow the fungal problem to hang around?Kitty neIN, Zone 5 --------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE GARDENCHATIsland Jim Southwest Florida 27.1 N, 82.4 W Hardiness Zone 10 Heat Zone 10 Sunset Zone 25 Minimum 30 F [-1 C] Maximum 100 F [38 C] --------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE GARDENCHAT
