I really think you need to set up a hermit crab cam- with live streaming video so that we all can watch this adventure. It sounds like too much fun.... Let's hope your housing choices are improved over the last one : )

OH yesssss...our Tom (his name is Mr. Turkey - what else?) was hatched
via incubator and has been handled his whole life. He follows me
everywhere, gobbles on call - every single time, thinks he owns the
place, and sits on the back porch and stares at me while I'm cooking
dinner, hoping that I will come out and feed him something good. When we
were out shearing our llamas last Saturday, he had to be right in the
middle of ALL OF IT. I don't think he would get in the car but he lets
me hold him and carry him around. He's HEAVY though. He is black and
white - a "Royal Palm" turkey. Beautiful. I'll try to send some pics
ya'lls way.

and it seemed like they played "musical shells" a lot. They would
try on
shells until they found just the right one. And when it left it's old
shell, one of the other ones would go try his shell on for size. Too

(had them in a touch tank at the Museum in Charleston) and they

Ms Fatma is baby-sitting a hermit crab this summer. A week or so
ago
we noticed that it seemed a bit large for its shell, so we
purchased
a larger one at a local souvenir shop. For the first few days, it
dragged the new shell all around its tank--into its water bowl,

its food bowl--like it was introducing a new chum to the
neighborhood. Well, last night, it parked next to the new shell,
opening to opening. We think, maybe, it's going to move into the
larger shell today or tonight.
