OT - did my duty

I had to attend the Constitution Island fundraiser "Seafood Gala"
last night. I volunteered in the garden there from 1970-89, and
Chet has been on the board of directors since about 1975. It was
a beautiful evening, and I guess it was a really nice event - pretty
expensive at least - but I don't enjoy such events. There was a
bluegrass band - pretty good - and a big tent. The main feature
was lobster. There was a raw bar with oysters, but that didn't
attract me. The main course was a whole lobster, corn cob,
a scoop of mussels, and a small salad. The site is so beautiful.
I have always loved it. But I had just rather have been there
quietly without all the people trying to impress each other - lots
of retired military. And I really decided that I prefer Lobster Thermidor
to whole lobsters. They are much more trouble than they are
worth.
