Re: [Fwd: new pergola/arbor]

That's a very nice pergola
" a structure usually consisting of parallel colonnades supporting an open roof of girders and cross rafters "

I have an arbor, http://tinyurl.com/4xaf7w
a shelter of vines or branches or of latticework covered with climbing shrubs or vines

A trellis is more 2 dementional, a frame of latticework used as a screen or as a support for climbing plants

Then there's the allie
a walkway lined with trees or tall shrubs

What exactly is the difference between a pergola and an arbor? or a
trellis for that matter?

Anyway, pics of my new one are here. Very happy with how it came out.
The contractor made it exactly as I'd wanted. :-)
