All I can say is my sis has bought mail-order from them in the past and was more than satisfied with the plants. She also buys stuff in 1- gallon [10-inch] size. We plan to go down there and go to Nichols Gardens, too, so I've got to get the back of the truck cleaned out for sure.

They've got a new one called "Black Widow" that's to die for. Don't know if it's included in the on-line gallery. http://greergardens.com/ On Jun 7, 2008, at 6:07 PM, David Franzman wrote:Jim, I'm looking for some rhodies and azealeas do they have an onlinepresence?----- Original Message ---- From: james singer<islandjim1@comcast.net>To: gardenchat@hort.net Sent: Saturday, June 7,20085:38:33 PM Subject: Re: [CHAT] Weather/rhodies Sass [my sister]was goingthrough Greer's catalog earlier today highlighting rhododendroncultivarsshe wants to consider when we go down there later this month. Many of themhere are still blooming-- some just now coming into bloom. Everyone'sRhododendrons are blooming more heavilythan I have ever seen them before. My Kousa dogwood has massiveblooms. The peonies are astonishing - orwereuntil this heat hitthem. We were on the Taconic Parkway thisafternoon, and the roadside isjust blanketed with white multiflora roses.I know they areconsidered a noxious weed and an invasive alien -though when we first moved outhere nearly half a century ago they weresold as ideal hedging. Ihave never seen them bloom as heavily asthey are right now - andfragrant! I still wish we had had a gentlerintroduction to the heat. I needto go out and water, but just can'tmake myself go out until it coolsdown a bit - if it does.Auralie**************Get trade secrets for amazing burgers.Watch"Cookingwith Tyler Florence" on AOL Food.(http://food.aol.com/tyler-florence?video=4?&NCID=aolfod00030000000002) ---------------------------------------------------------------------To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with themessagetext UNSUBSCRIBE GARDENCHAT11:17 AM---------------------------------------------------------------------Tosign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with themessage textUNSUBSCRIBE GARDENCHATIsland Jim Willamette Valley 44.99 N123.04 WElevation 148' Hardiness Zone 8/9 Heat Zone 5 Sunset Zone 6Minimum 0 F [-15C] Maximum 86 F [30 C]---------------------------------------------------------------------Tosign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with themessage textUNSUBSCRIBE GARDENCHAT---------------------------------------------------------------------Tosign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with themessage textUNSUBSCRIBE GARDENCHATIsland Jim Willamette Valley 44.99 N 123.04 W Elevation 148' Hardiness Zone 8/9 Heat Zone 5 Sunset Zone 6 Minimum 0 F [-15 C] Maximum 86 F [30 C] --------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE GARDENCHAT --------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE GARDENCHAT
