Re: Donna and tornadoes/OKLA storms

Don't know what to make of this weather, either. Yesterday, there was a foot of snow in the Cascades in southern Washington. This morning's paper pointed out that for four of the first seven days of June, the "high" has not reached 60 degrees, that over-all the average high has been 5 degrees below the historic average high. Right now it's 51-- with a wind-chill of 47. So no tornadoes, no torrential rain, but no sun and warmth, either. It takes all the enthusiasm out of building the raised beds.

Yeah, started raining last night about 6pm. And it's still raining 12 hrs later. Admittedly it might have stopped sometime last night, but I woke up a few times and heard rain. It seems a bit cooler though which is nice, but not sure how long that will last.

Just be careful what you wish for..... It would be nice if we could send
some of our rain over to you. I see that Iowa, Wisc, and Ind have way
too much!

We need it too. It's terribly dry here and the heat wave isn't helping any.
With temperatures in the upper nineties for the past two days, and
predicted to continue for another two or three, there is a 30 percent
chance of a passing thunder shower. Yesterday afternoon it got very
dark and thunder rumbled in true Hudson Valley fashion, but there was
only the very slightest sprinkle of rain. The drive wasn't even damp
under the trees. Maybe somebody got some of it, but we sure
didn't.

Send some of that rain this way, will you please? We're deep into the
drought left over from 18 months ago. Even my Vitex is wilted!

I just got my electricity back... but it was just out from 5 AM until now.. about 8 AM. That doesn't sound bad .... but it is such a weird feeling knowing how dependent we are on electricity. It is still raining and we
have already had almost 3.5 inches since last night about 10 PM.
