If CA keeps paving over everything you might as well change the name,
you'll probably have more of them than we do.
There are still some wildflowers here, most very small species I can't
remember the names of...you have to be walking peering at the ground to
see them. We did a rather hair-raising trail ride last weekend and
during the times I actually had my eyes open I saw a lot of Mariposa
lilies - very pretty - amongst a few other things. I tried picking some
pods off the bush poppy, but alas, I forgot and left them in my pocket
when I washed my jeans.

Hi Cyndi. The California poppies are really beginning to bloom here
now. Most of the rural roads are bordered by them. And there was a
funny article in the Oregonian the other day about some guy who wants
to change their common name to Oregon Poppy.
