Re: Saffron

It was one of the first bulbs I tried bak around 1990. They did multiply but then I started into all things gardening, changing things, making new beds, replanting in beds that had stuff. I probably just killed them off. Also, now that I think of it, they were in the exact location that I had chipmunk troubles. That could be the reason they are gone.

Check out:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saffron

Yes, it is Wikipedia, but it seems, after a brief look, to be good info on conditions and cultivation.

So... what happened, Kitty? Did they just sort of peter out? I'd like
to get a bunch of them started here, but I've got no idea about ideal
conditions.

I have grown them - yrs ago. They did repeat here and multiply a
little as I recall. Don't know if they're still around here though.
I recall my nephew took one to school when he was little and the
teacher was quite surprised by it.

tried it here a couple times. they won't repeat, too hot I
suspect. doubt
you'd have that problem in Oregon though. Pretty things.
