Re: gardening question
You always seem to keep your sense of humor, Donna.
Many demands in life are obligatory, but some aren't necessarily so. While
you're away, maybe you could take some time and assess what you might be
able to trim from your ever- lengthening list. Maybe not right away, but
make a plan to complete some things and then pass them on. Make decisions
and stick by them. Life is short, you shouldn't spend yours always on the
run.

LOL!.. no apology needed.. I am just sorry to hear that the weeds found
you.
I am at about the breaking point here.... there are no more flowers,
only weeds and skeeters. I can't seem to get my boss to understand that
I need less hours per day. My mother doesn't seem to understand that I
am not super women and can't get everything she wants done. I have a
list a mile long and it keeps getting longer every day. I have to leave
town and the lady (nurse) who was going to watch my mother husband is
now ill.... oh, did I mention the day after I get back my mother is
having knee replacement....
The heart specialist is on hold. I have no time to get thru the tests
they want me to do....
Geesh... sorry, it is just all getting to me. I need this trip to get
away from this situation that is here.... hope it happens....

I'd give them some time, but I think you're right, they'll probably have
to
come down.
On another note, I owe you an apology Donna. A few years back you were
bemoaning your weed situation and I recall replying that I have very few
weeds. This year it's a totally different story. Mainly maple seedlings
and clover, but a few others thrown in. I have spent days pulling the damn
stuff, hauling out huge bags of it and I'm still not done.

LOL! I must be babbling agin...
Any way to save these trees, especially the red maple? If the main
leader trunk is dead? If I cut it out, it would leave a large U shaped
gap, although the side branches would cover, but I am sure everything
would collect there and infect it anyway...
I was also wondering if this is common in tornado's/hurricanes senerios?
Or do I have other issues out there and it was just timing that caused
it?

Subject: [CHAT] gardening question
although many others have more important issues in life with this crazy
weather.... I do have a gardening question.
After the tornado went thru here, two of my trees (smoke tree and red
maple) both lost their main center trunk. All the leaves dried up and
the next windstorm took them away. It doesn't appear to have been hit by
lightening (no burn marks) or damaged (no split marks, cracks).
I have no idea why this happened. Many of the side branches are fine,
but I do realize I have to take these trees down.....although I may give
them some time and see if it comes back.
