Negative, Jim? Are you sure you're not thinking of the electronic things that are supposed to make noise that the animals can hear?

I've seen 200 pound men jump half a foot into the air when "Scarecrows" go off. Deer jump higher.

Not much help here. I've only heard negative stories about those devices.
