I'd rather boast that I got all 2 1/2 acres looking good! (sigh) Cannot believe that Gary and I completely maintained it for at least 10 of our 20 years here. Not now! I blame much more volunteer work and... aging. Recently planted two pawpaws - trying to mix up the gene pool, as my other two might have been clones from the same tree - i.e. no fruit. Also an American persimmon (just because I can - Stark Brothers Nursery is about 40 miles from my house.) Also planted a Buffalo Gourd (Curcurbita foetidissima) - the only perennial gourd I have ever heard of - and a native to the US. While I have heard it has visions of world domination, I planted it in a location the lawn mower can easily reach. The gourds are small, but the seeds are edible, or so the Plant Delights Nursery says. Have to plant about 5 Oenothera macrocarpa today (Missouri Primrose).

I hope Donna and Jim and some of the others are still here. I left the list because I was just too busy at the time for so many emails. Still busy, still having plant sales, and trying to keep the garden up. Buying wayyyyyyyyyyyy too many plants still. I swore not this year, but you should see the list. Where to put them all?
So what new acquisitions are all of you boasting?

How great to hear from you, Kitty! I think of you often, and I've wondered how you were. We've had so much rain this year that my weeds are way too lush!

Hi! I received a message – the hacked type – from Jesse Bell this morning, so I guess I must still be in someone’s address book.
Here’s hoping you all have wonderful, lush gardens this season!
