Re: Yipes! Help.....

Jim, are you referring to the wasps (?) you let loose in the house to get rid of the whiteflies. That story still makes me laugh when I think about it. Mmm, mmm, mmm. The Short One must have infinite patience.

i think you're right, dan. the ones in the second picture definitely look like white flies. and they are virtually impossible to get rid of indoors--mostly because the stuff [orthene, for example] that really does the job is not the sort of chemical one want's to let loose in the house. or the greenhouse, either, unless it's a commercial-type house with commercial-type ventilators.

i has a miserable but somewhat amusing experience [previously related] with them indoor, and i'm here to testify that there isn't enough yellow tape in all of creation to control even a modest infestation, but it will make you feel good because you'll be doing something that's environmentally friendly.

oh, yeah, and the "natural predator" thing doesn't work, either. at least not indoors. ask the short one about that :>)

Donna,

Your "bugs" look like whiteflies to me. They are rather difficult to
eradicate. I have used sticky traps inside the house with moderate success.
The Ortho Problem Solver book mentions Orthene, insecticidal soap or
resmethrin following label instructions.
