Re: must be spring...

Our robins have been here a week - with temperatures no higher than 30! They have been stripping all the berries of the holly bushes. Hope the supply lasts until the insects and worms are available!

Hey, you don't have Robins all year there, Theresa? I don't think they leave here. Just curious! Also, what kind of ground orchids do you have?\\

hey Jim-

I just love ground orchids- mine are starting to bloom and happily the
plants have multiplied from last year : )
I has been gorgeous here all weekend too, and I saw a robin yesterday-so it
is official- spring is here. I planted out melon, tomatillo, and some of
"Jim's tomato" seedlings today (with a little protection). I got to get up
and start the rest of my tomato seeds- but needed a break- it's been a busy
weekend. We put in an "over the range" microwave today! Yeah- more kitchen
counter space now and got rid of the hideously ugly cream (and I use the
color loosely) vent hood. I'm quite please with myself!

P.S. Note to self to order roses and mahonia and look for strawberry tree
this week.

the epiphyllums are beginning to bloom, the begonias are blooming, and the
ground orchids are sending up bloom spikes. but i'm going to have to pull
most of these plants out to make room for more weeds. the weeds are
definitely winning the battle and i hate to be on the losing side all the
time.

oh, yeah, and the temperatures are in the high-70s, low-80s with a gentle
breeze blowing out of the southwest.
