Not really hostile or that invasive. I have black which is slow growing and
well behaved and Gold which is a bit more pushy. I don't have problems
managing either one . Have not touched the black more than once in four
years . The gold requires twice a year containment. Bamboo really doesn't
deserve the nasty reputation it's getting . It's also quite beautiful, green
all year, resistant to bugs and disease,and moves in even the faintest
breeze. I have many plants that are a lot more work. Of my 4 bamboo only one
is clumping and it's so slow that I will probably never see it at maturity.
