Well, Bill picked up a program that allows him to take video from a VCR and
digitalize it onto a CD or a DVD. (He started with my folk's old family
movie with weddings and re-unions on it. It came out well, even with the
dubbed music over it.) Tape definitely has a shorter life span than a CD
and I feel pretty confident that there is most likely a program for music as
well.

Donna, anyone--Know about digitizing songs that are in analog on
cassettes so they can be burned onto CDs? I've got a few "nifty"
cassettes that were recorded from 78s and 45s and I'd sure like to be
able to play them in the truck once in awhile. Also concerned about the
longevity of the tape; not the archive medium of choice, I suspect.
