Dear Melody, 

I'm overwhelmed by the gift you sent from the gardenchat group in the
memory of Tony so that we can plant a nice tree. I'm so very grateful
and I know that Tony must somehow know this and is very, very pleased
and thankful.


Actually, when your check arrived we had already made arrangements to
meet and decide where on the Church grounds we will plant the tree. The
weather has not be good enough to even plan it until now. We have 15
acres of land and want to make sure that it will be planted in a good
place. Most of this is farm land and is quite beautiful.


We are considering a dogwood tree but that is not a firm decision yet.
We re meeting the first of the week and make some definite plans for the
spot, the tree and the small service we'll have when we plant it.


It makes me feel so very wonderful that my Tony has touched to many
lives. I'm finding more and more of that as I continue to receive
letters and emails from persons I have not met, and who had such an
influence on their lives. What a legacy he left! ...The service was a
fine tribute to him and gives glory to God through Tony's life.


I miss him so. It is difficult without him. I know that he is where he
wanted to be and is no longer suffering, but he is not here!!!! and
that's hard for me not to have him by my side. However, I get wonderful
and loving support from many, many friends and I try to keep busy,
taking it a day at a time. ... I don't like being alone without Tony,
but it was God's time for him and it is OK. Really, OK !! It's like a
peaceful and happy face in the midst of a broken heart. :-)


I'll let you know when we have the service to plant the tree, where we
will plant it and what kind of tree. I'll try and get some pictures to
you. I am not connected to the gardenchat line so I do hope that you
will send out a special thank-you to all those who contributed to Tony's
memory tree. How special you are all and I love you all very much. THANK
YOU !!!!!!
