However, if you have a cultivar, it may not be quite as tolerant as the "old standby" If you want to renew an older bush try removing one third of the old stems each year for three years. Might be easier on the bush.

OHH, and for those of you who grow cat grass for your cats should try this. Raja, my princess, is the only cat we have that likes cat grass. Well, in the dead of winter...I couldn't stand it anymore...I had to have some seeds sprouting and green stuff...so I soaked some plain ole pinto beans in water overnight, planted them in a pot and a week later I had lovely green shoots coming up. Well, Raja decided to "taste" them. And she like them. So, she mowed them down. She is not on her SECOND pot of pinto bean sprouts. How weird.
