Hi Chris, My sister who lives almost on the South border of Kansas uses the
1/3 cutback each year to keep her ninebark from getting too leggy and
sprawlly (so whatcha think of that word?). Seems to work for her. She's in
the South part of Z-6 or the North part of Z-7.

Has anyone ever pruned their Physocarpus (Ninebark) to keep it smaller? I'm
afraid I'd loose the beautiful vase shape if I prune it wrong. How close to
the ground do you prune it?
