The one we had when I was a child did not sucker.  I don't have any
experience beyond that, Cyndi.

They said in Sierra Madre that "The Vine" does not get any supplemental
watering, just whatever the sprinklers put out. Doesn't seem like much for
such a big plant. On the other hand they say they have speculated that there
might be a little spring underground that it's tapped into.
I should have asked what gardening underneath that thing is like. Is it one
big root mass or what. Do wisterias sucker? I didn't see any signs of it but
of course they have everything spiffed up for the big day. That'd be
annoying, suckers coming up underneath an acre of wisteria.

Noreen, wisterias bloom out here in the country where no one waters them.
