This is a weird site. I tried using the Plant Finder. I put in zone 8 and
drought tolerant as my only criteria. I got back one plant - Salvia
uliginosa, bog sage - which says it grows in moist soil near ponds. And then
it says it's one of the most drought-tolerant plants. Say what? So then I
tried putting in zone 7 and drought tolerant, got back a longer list of
plants which look more like what I expected. Zone 6 gives me even a slightly
different set. But all of those grow in zone 8. I can see where you wouldn't
want something hardy to zone 8 recommended for zone 6, but the other way
around should be fine.
