zone 6, We have cold snaps during the winter, but
rarely below freezing for more than a couple of days - weeks at a time.
Freeze & thaw all winter long. Often warm into October & not unusual to have
40+ highs from Feb on through true spring. I see on the maps that lower
elevations just a few miles from me (Snake River into the Columbia drainage)
are rated z7 or higher. I live near the western border of Idaho just North
of the Oregon border.
