Re: Yeti

Jesse: I agree the noise is something else again with these games...but
I kind of figure I'd better get some kind of "in" with these kids if I
have any hope of staying in the loop of their teenaged lives...a really
difficult thing to pull off these days. And good for you for being able
to make yourself tolerate something so hard for you just to have your
kids and their friends at your house instead of out somewhere else doing
goodness only knows what...

Blessings in Christ's mercy,

Work for the Lord: the pay isn't much but the retirement is out of this world!

I can play the games...and I'm pretty good at it. I just don't like
the
violence and noise level. When my son and the twins were home and
in
high school, they had "Halo" parties at our house and these kids
would
bring their own televisions, video games, x-boxs....and they
would set
up in different rooms and do tournaments. After awhile I
just had to get
out of there...the noise is just too much for me. The
sound of bombs and
guns shooting just made me a wreck. I'm a
"peacemonger" and that kind of
noise is like fingernails on a
chalkboard. Now they are into Guitar
Hero...wow....again with the
noise. And I like MUSIC...it's just...not
THAT kind of music.

able to blow that satellite out of orbit with such
devastating

precision...they probably had some 21 year old kid who grew
up
playing video games operating the missile system. BTW, to most of
the
teenage boys around our town, I am *the* coolest mom ever because
I know
how to play the game Halo...awesome awesome game about the
Marines and
alien invaders...lots of blowing stuff up which turns out
to be
important to teenaged boys...go figure! And yesterday I took my
laptop
into the computer store for a checkup and the college kid at
the counter
nearly fell over when he found out that the Age of Empire
games on my
system were my games and not my kids'. Gave me a good
laugh...who knew
*old* people played cool video games,
right?

Blessings in Christ's mercy,

Melody
