Mine do the same thing Cathy. About mid March (sometimes earlier) the
leaves start to look yellow and I lose a lot of them. My plant looks
almost BARE. It's usually from the dry heat in the house and not enough
water. This week I put a little bit of epsom salt in the water and
watered them down good and they perked back up. Not to worry...once you
can get them outside the leaves will all grow back. It just looks like
bloody hell until then. Mine do it every year right before spring.

hum..... mine is doing the same thing. Always does. I call it March
disease. Seems every year about this time all the 'over wintered indoor'
plants decide to give me grief. I think they just want to be outside!

  
I must tell you David, one of your hibiscus took a direct hit from an
outdoor lamp/table thing in a wind storm last summer. Cracked it
directly down the middle w/main stem showing all of it's inners right
down to the dirt level. Thought it was a gonner.... but it healed it
self over and survived it all.

Dave and Everyone -
My lovely hibiscus seems to be ill! I have kept it inside, in a south 
facing window, and fed and watered it regularly. Several months ago, I 
pruned it after it flowered, and repotted it. Despite my efforts, it 
has been dropping leaves: they begin to yellow, and then parts of each 
leaf literally brown and dry. I am convinced that it won't be long 
before the plant dies. Very depressing. I looked at the leaves - for 
critters, and didn't see any (of course my eyes are not the 
greatest...), but sprayed them with insecticidal soap, just in case. 
Any other ideas???
