Re: Exodus

My guess is zone 7. My old, old Sunset "Western Garden Book" [revised spring 1973] says it's Sunset zone 6--but it gives no temperature range. It does say, however, that the area is suitable for apricots, figs, rhododendrons, and azaleas.

Do you know what zone you'll be in up there?

Yes, it is, Melody. I've been there a few times--most of the surviving
members of my mother's tribe moved there in the 60s for some reason. I
remember especially the Rose Test Garden in Washington Park. I don't
much care for roses, but that garden was so spectacular when I was
there that I almost became a convert.

does your sister reside? BTW, I'm sure if you are anywhere near
Portland, Janice would probably love to have you see Tony's garden...I
know she worried something terrible about not being able to keep up
with
it after Tony died as she is not a gardener...he had some magnificent
plantings!
