If you want some A. gigantea, I could send you some. Let me know... and give me your mailing address.

It is the only bamboo native to north america. It is indigenous to
southern IL, and I have established it in my back yard (hoping that
the shady location and being at the northern end of its growing area,
would keep it under control. (Hope springs eternal!!)

Yes, it is very slow growing, is a beautiful gold in the fall, and
doesn't get too tall. It used to grow all over TN and Kentucky. When
I'm
over this chemo, I am going to try to reestablish it.

Professional doesn't matter, Bonnie. They're your photos, your beds. I
commend you for getting the pictures taken. I used to be better
about it -
and that was when I used FILM. It's so much easier now with digital
and yet
I still forget to grab the camera.

River cane - I don't know it. Is this it? :

oh, and BTW - thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, for writing
"an" historic hard freeze.

Thanks, I know they are not professional but I enjoy having a
record of
my beds, especially as they change with growth, etc. Somethings die
along the way, too. We used to have a beautiful stand of river cane
along the driveway but we had an historic hard freeze a couple of
years
ago after things warmed up and they bit the dust. Any suggestions
from
any of you wonderful gardeners?
