don't know why you couldn't bonsai a sago. they're so slow growing, it would really be a low maintenance proposition. i've never seen one bonsai'd, but i have seen another cycad, zamia floridana, the coontie, grown that way and it was really cool. it looked like a big redwood burl with about six fronds sticking out of it.
