Hi Melody,
As a non-digital camera owner/user, the big advantage seems to me to be
the
immediate feedback. Not only can you tell almost immediately what the
picture looks like, but you don't have to wait for film developing to
access
your photos. It always takes me forever to get the film to be
developed,
especially since I take mostly slides.
My mom has a digital camera and a Mac, I can ask her what she has. I
have a
feeling it won't matter what the camera is, it'll just require an
interface
cable and maybe software on the machine to handle pictures, but I'm not
sure. She bought her camera when they visited and we hooked it up to
the TV
for a picture show of their trip to Banff - that was cool.

And do any of you computer whizzes out there have a guess as to what
type of digital camera might be compatible with Macs? Also, is there an
advantage, besides saving time, over a digital camera vs. simply
scanning in photos from a regular camera?
