RE: Re: color coordinating

Hmmm- that is true about the white centrantrus. I have the regular pink
color in the back yard and love it. Mine's a bit tall, but also get some
shade from a nearby tree.
Oh, in case you were wondering, only the front of the house is brick.

I guess a lot depends on how "Spectrumly Correct" we feel compelled to
be. My house has a brick trim from top to bottom on one side, about a
third of the front, in sort of a lgt brown-orange spice-black blend. The
previous owners installed yellow siding that looked nearly chartreuse,
white trim and brick-red painted accents. Ugh-o-mundo! I painted the
house tan with chocolate brown trim and spice-orange accents to make the
brick color work.

However, when it comes to plants, I don't color-coordinate. I love pinks
and blues. But I also like salmon which works with the house. I agree
it's a good idea to have pleasing color combinations, but they simply
don't rule around here.

And BTW, the Centranthus ruber, Bonnie mentioned also comes in C.r.var.
alba - white. I think hers is white. Might look good against a brick
background.
