caladium picture questions

i have to confess, ceres, bonnie, and sally ann, that i don't know the name of it. i think it's one that i bought at the caladium festival 2 years ago, but i'm not even 100 percent sure of that.

i just went out and looked to see how far it had spread through its part of the fern bed and as near as i can tell, it covers about a square foot--leaves popping up here and there, pink spears that will slowly unroll.

i discovered something interesting, too; it's also sending up two blooms [if you've never seen a caladium bloom, it looks sort of like a miniature peace lily or antherium]. i'd offer a picture, but they are both facing into the ferns.

about the "arrow" shape, marge, i've noticed that a lot of the newer introductions have leaves that are more rather than less triangular. i've got one that i really love--the only one that's planted in a pot--that is nearly an equilateral triangle when it first opens up with a bright red center and a narrow green and white edge. it's just now coming up. i'll post a picture once there is something more interesting to see.

the most expensive one i ever bought--$25 maybe--is also coming back for its third year. i hope it survives because it is very different from any of the others.

sorry, sally ann, i don't remember the name. but if you want to meet me at the lake placid caladium festival in august, i'll show you the one i think it is.
